When did Jesus forgive us all our sins? Part 1

Posted by Grace Revolution on September 25, 2008

“Oh that the world would know and see, that the church would see…

“behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” John 1:29

Quoting Wayne Duncan, from Grace Revolution forum

Thanks that’s the revelation I just got now. This truth will change my life- I know it.

When did Jesus forgive us all our sins- past present and future? When did He die?

When you believed in Him, or before you even had the chance to believe in Him, that’s about 2000 years ago?

Before we believed, our sins have been forgiven through His One Sacrifice at One point in history.

That’s the Gospel we preach to the lost- Jesus has already forgiven you!
*You don’t have to ask Him to forgive you for your sins to be forgiven
*You don’t have to confess your sins for Him to forgive you
Most ‘sinner’s prayer’ goes like this… “O Lord forgive me of my sins have mercy on me a sinner…I confess my sins so that you can forgive me”

THAT’S ACTUALLY WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don’t have to earn your forgiveness, work for your forgiveness, pray to get your forgiveness, confess your sins to get forgiveness, fast to get your forgiveness, read the bible to get your forgiveness, obey the commandments to get your forgiveness (that’s Old Covenant Practice)- ALL your past present and future sins have already been forgiven!!!

*************************************************************************************************************

All you have to do is understand-change your mind-believe in Jesus, and you will be born-again!

*************************************************************************************************************

Instead the sinner should say, “Thankyou Jesus for your mercy(not giving me judgement) and grace (giving me forgiveness), You have already forgiven me of my sins! I repent of my unbelief, All I have to do is BELIEVE!!!”

How can a Christian loose their salvation?
if their sins had already been dealt with and forgiven at the crucifixtion before they believed, now that they have believed and received their forgiveness- how can God all of a sudden recall their sins for which He already forgave them before they got saved?

How can God punish the same sins twice?

That’s the difference between the Old Covenant and New Covenant. In the Old Covenant you had to forgive others in order to get forgiveness from God, but since Jesus died on the cross, now in the New Covenant, you can forgive others freely because Christ Forgave you at the Cross!!

That teaching that says, ” now that you are saved, there is a possiblity that you can loose your salvation- you are saved by keeping the law, and if you don’t get to confess your sins before you die, you could goto hell”

IS NOT WHAT JESUS DIED FOR!!!
That is not the Gospel! It’s no gospel at all! !!! It’s not the good news about the forgiveness of sins which we are called to preach to all nations!

JESUS DIED FOR E-T-E-R-N-A-L REDEMPTION!!!

Christians don’t have to confess their sins to be forgiven, they are already forgiven! please have a listen to Rob’s teaching on ‘Do Christians have to confess their sins to God?” 08/06/08 for deep expository on 1 John 1:9, on http://www.citychurchinternational.net/2008.html

(1John 1:9 was written in the context of Gnosticisim- written to people who didn’t believe in the existence of sin, they didn’t believe you could sin and they were bringing that heresy to the church. So John was writing to them to tell them to acknowledge that they’ve sinned so they could get saved. That Scripture was addressed to unblievers and believers who were confused by Gnosticism)

Eternal life is ‘ETERNAL life’ because all our FUTURE sins have been forgiven!!! NOT JUST PAST OR PRESENT SINS FORGIVEN! otherwise the moment we become born-again we would loose our salvation right away because I have moved from the present to the future and there are unintentional sins, sins of ommisions, sins of no knowledge that I do not even know about.

Luke 24:47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

2 Cor 5:19 In other words, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting people’s trespasses against them, and he has given us the message of reconciliation.

Through the Cross God was not counting people’s sins against them- that means He has already forgiven them!!!

John 19:30 When he had received the sour wine, Jesus said, “It is COMPLETED/FINISHED!” 2 Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Scriptures taken from net.bible.org

As my pastor’s wife said once,
“What part of ‘Completed/finished’ don’t you understand!”
Let the grace revolution hit the evangelism arena!
Thankyou!!!

Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, It trains us 1 to reject godless ways 2 and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

This truth will actually change your heart to love God more than ever before and express that through obedience.

Eternal Security Part 1: Our Salvation

Posted by Grace Revolution on May 6, 2008

Last updated: 07/06/08

The bible declares that we have been saved, delivered from the penalty of sin, living under the law (Rom 6:15; Gal 3:23-25), and granted eternal/everlasting life (John 10:28), once and for all at the Cross of Jesus 2000 years ago. Jesus already forgave us all our sins even before we believed in Him (2 Corinthians 5:19; Colossians 2:13; Eph 1:7) . He is so merciful, kind and gracious that he didn’t wait for us to turn to Him first but He reached down to us first (1 John 4:19) . The Holy Spirit is here to convict the world of only one ‘sin’- singular, that is the sin of unbelief. He is here to help us to believe in Jesus. (John 16:7-11)

Actually, in the New Covenant, the only sin that will send people to eternal damnation in the lake of fire is the sin of unbelief (Mark 16:16; John 3:18).

It’s not the Holy Spirit’s job to convict people of ‘sins’, the law is already doing that whenever a unbeliever sins, his/her conscience accuses them because the requirements of the law have already been written on their heart (Roms 3:19-20). Every human being who is not born-again has been living under the supervision of the law from the day they were born (Galatians 3:23-25). So the law is to lead us to Christ and the Holy Spirit is here to show us how wonderful Jesus is and that He has already paid for the penalty of all our sins for breaking the law so that we wouldn’t have to be punished and undergo eternal separation from our Loving Father; the Holy Spirit is here to show us all we need to do is to believe in Jesus and so that we will no longer be under supervision the law of sin and death but enter into the supervision of Grace-God’s unmerited favor, into life everlasting, eternally secured in Christ Jesus, namely Salvation/Deliverance.

In the New Testament, the Good News of Jesus Christ went to the Jews first. But because God’s own people rejected the Gospel, salvation or the Gospel has gone to the Gentiles- all the other countries of the world who are not Jewish, until the Jews to start to believe in Jesus. (Romans 11:11,25-26)

However, the Word of God declares that ‘all the promises of God are Yes and Amen in Christ Jesus.’

2Corinthians 1:20.

For every one of God’s promises are “Yes” in him; therefore also through him the “Amen” is spoken, to the glory we give to God.

All the promises God gave to Israel, we now can share in through faith in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 3:6

namely, that through the gospel 1 the Gentiles are fellow heirs, fellow members 2 of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus.

Salvation in the Hebrew

y@shuw`ah <03444>

means, “Deliverance, saved, welfare, prosperity, victory, health.”

It is actually a word that relates to ‘Yeshua’, in other words ‘Jesus’. The Name Jesus was hidden in the Old Testament in the word ‘salvation/deliverance’. It’s very obvious that the name Jesus= Yeshua, is hidden in this hebrew.

Matt 1:21 She will give birth to a son and you will name him 17 Jesus, 18 because he will save his people from their sins.”

Iesous <2424>

Definition: Jesus = “Jehovah is salvation”

The Salvation prophesied in the Old Testament was fullfilled in Jesus. Salvation is not an event that takes place one time in history; but Salvation is in A Person, Jesus Who has an never ending life.

“Salvation is Incomparably Great because it is Eternal in its duration.”

1) Salvation/Deliverance is ONCE and FOR ALL.

Isaiah 45:17 Israel will be delivered ONCE and FOR ALL by the Lord; 46 you will never again be ashamed or humiliated

ONCE and FOR ALL in Hebrew is:

`owlam <05769>

Definition:

1) long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting,
evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, world
1a) ancient time, long time (of past)
1b) (of future)
1b1) for ever, always
1b2) continuous existence, perpetual
1b3) everlasting, indefinite or unending future, eternity

2) Salvation/Deliverance is PERMANENT and WILL NOT DISAPPEAR.

Isaiah 51:6 Look up at the sky!

Look at the earth below!

For the sky will dissipate likesmoke,

and the earth will wear out like clothes;

its residents will die like gnats.

But the deliverance I give is permanent;

the vindication I providewill not disappear.

Permanent is the same Hebrew word again:

`owlam <05769>

3) Christ/Messiah is the SOURCE of Eternal Salvation/deliverance

Hebrews 5:9 And by being perfected in this way, he became the source of ETERNAL salvation to all who obey him,

Eternal is:

aionios <166>

Definition:

1) without beginning and end, that which always has been and
always will be
2) without end, never to cease, everlasting

If He is the Source of eternal salvation, then in Him we will find eternal salvation!

4) Messiah SECURED ETERNAL Redemption for us.

Hebrews 9:12 and he entered once for all into the most holy place not by the blood of goats and calves but by his own blood, and so he himself secured 16 eternal redemption.

5) Salvation through ONE SACRIFICE has made us Perfect FOREVER.

Hebrews 10:14 because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

5) Jesus and the Father imparts ETERNAL SECURITY to all He saves.

John 10:28-29
I give them eternal life, and they will NEVER perish; no one will snatch 69 them from my hand. 10:29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, 70 and no one can snatch 71 them from my Father’s hand. 10:30 The Father and I 72 are one.”

NEVER is:

ou me <3364>

Definition:1) never, certainly not, not at all, by no means

6) Jesus saves us COMPLETELY, PERFECTLY, UTTERLY

Hebrews 7:23-25

And the others 30 who became priests were numerous, because death prevented them 31 from continuing in office, 32 7:24 but he holds his priesthood permanently since he lives forever. 7:25 So he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

‘Completely’ in the Greek:

panteles <3838>

pantelhv panteles

Pronunciation: pan-tel-ace’

Definition:

1) all complete, perfect
2) completely, perfectly, utterly

7) We are eternally secured because we have CONFIDENT EXPECTATION.

Titus 3:7 And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.

These Scriptures, they tell us that our Salvation has been Eternally Secured!
