Daredevil, heroic, courageous believers!!

I went to see a movie on thursday night, and these guys were in a guy that ran off a bridge and they jumped off  the car!! then i see them jumping over buildings, doing daredevil stunts, fearless- just living life on the edge….they have no regard for their lives, just wild and raw and not afraid to take on any challenges.

Man, i just think, how people who don’t know Jesus lives… people in the world live their lives on the edge, they are not afraid to take risk, they like the thrill of an adventure and to live life to the full as they know how…

How much more should we as believers, live our lives to the full? living daredevil, courageous lives for our King Jesus and have no regard for our own reputation and our own lives in a sense as we risk our own reputations and put our lives on the line for our Commander and King Jesus!!!

Man I want to be courageous, bold, take stunts for Jesus!!!

Its time to overthrow the weak, nice mannered side of Christianity and be wild and risk takers for Jesus!!

Let’s rock the boat, overthrow the religious pharisaism, love from the heart, believe God for big things and Go and do great things….

Don’t be afraid to stand up for your faith and be a Jesus Freak!!!!!!

If the world can be a freak in what they do and stand up for what they believe for, soldiers give their lives for their countries, athletes train and discipline themselves for a crown that will perish one, how much more for us who have eternal weight of glory waiting for us on that Glorious day as we see Him face to face, and say, “No, Lord, this crown You give me belongs to You, I got this for You, not for me.” And then we lay it down at His feet.

Live an adventurous Christian life!!

Sometimes that may mean for you to witness to that person that you have been trying to avoid because you have been intimidated, or pray for that sick person in a wheel chair as you are walking down the road, or ring that friend of yours whom you have talked to for ages, or confront that person who’s trying to imtimidate you and deal with the issue upfront..

Let’s be heroes Not politicians…

Politicians seeked to be liked and try to please everybody and be famous, but let’s be heroes who have no regard for fame but only for the Glory of our Lord and King- to please Him only and do His Will, like Love Warriors and therefore make a difference in this lost and dying world. Live free from the fear of man, for it is a trap.

Proverbs 29:25 The fear of people  becomes a snare,

but whoever trusts in the LORD will be set on high.

So let’s make a decision today to be a daredevil for Jesus, do something heroic for Him in the Name of Love, and don’t hold back– don’t be afraid of what people will think of you, but give it all you’ve got. Life is too short to waste it on living a mediocre, boring life.

Hope this article has encouraged you,

Blessings,

Spirit lead, free, organic church life

John 17: 20-23

I am not praying only on their behalf, but also on behalf of those who believe in me through their testimony, 17:21 that they will all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I pray that they will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me. 17:22 The glory you gave to me I have given to them, that they may be one just as we are one – 17:23 I in them and you in me – that they may be completely one, so that the world will know that you sent me, and you have loved them just as you have loved me.

God the Father want’s His Church- His children, Called out ones, to be one. No matter what organisation, church group, denominations we belong to, no matter what differences we have in our beliefs in various doctrine of the Bible (just as long its not contradicing the essential truths of the faiths) we all need to humble ourselves, love each other, be teachable, work with one another for the Kingdom of God as much as we can, depending on the leading of the Holy Spirit.

I remember once I was talking to a hindu man about God. He said to me something like this, “Your religion/church is like mine; you have many groups, denominations such as baptists, pentecostals etc… many churches with different names. So it is the same with Hindus- there are many groups within Hindu relgion and many different ‘churches’ within.”

Then it hit me, one stumbling block for the world to see the church as one is this: our denominations, groups, names, organisations.

No what came to my mind was rob rufus saying something last year at glory and grace in sydney in session no.1 and 2,

“this not really about Law and Grace, it’s about who controls the church: does the man control the church, or does the Holy Spirit control the church?”

and in Session 3 He really preaches against the control spirit.

It can be downloaded from City Church International website

Christianity is simple; it’s all about Jesus from beginning to end; Its about a Person- God Himself. A passionate pursuit of Him, relationship with Him. Let’s not complicate it with traditions of man and good ideas of man that have no biblical basis and no church history to back it up even though they sound ‘good’.

It’s good to study church history.

The early church never owned one church building until the 3rd century when pagan emperor constantine did it while there were pagan temples around. It was Roman emperor Constantine’s fault because He was a pagan worshipper as well as a so called “christian”.

The early church never owned one church building and yet turned the world upside down; they wouldn’t want to own a church building because the pagans had their temples, the Jews had their synagogue and temple, it would have only confused the gospel message if they had! and had not the Lord said, “My body is the temple”.

Put yourselves in their shoes and imagine for a moment:

The early disciples realised they were the building of Jesus; they grew up in a culture of ‘temples’, pagan shrines and temples, for them to realise that they were God’s temple, it immediately would have taken away the need to have a ‘temple’ where ‘God lives’. Having a building today in our day was not part of early church tradition and also it only confuses the unsaved.

They turned the world upside down without one church building; they met in homes, outside in public places, on the streets, by the river, wherever they could. Buildings weren’t a issue for them, this world is soon passing away and will be burnt with fire. (2 Peter 3:10-13), Jesus is coming back in their soon in their lifetime (the early church sincerely believed that Jesus was coming back in their lifetime. 1Thessalonians 4:13-18)

And yet the church of our day has all sorts of buildings and monuments and its powerless to change the world.

So what happens when a meeting in a house becomes too big? well they go into another home? what if there is no leader to lead it?

Well that’s exactly right! God will take care of it!

Man loose control of the church and God  the Holy Spirit takes control!! it wasn’t a problem in Acts, they didn’t have that kind of thinking in place? ” do we have a leader? otherwise we can’t meet in a home?”

It says somewhere in Acts 4:4 that the number of men were 5000 people (not counting woman and children). But Acts 6:1-7 says appoint 7 deacons. so that is 7 deacons for 5000 people at least, not a very clever way to control the people beacuse that would mean about 700 for one deacon!!

That’s exactly right- man loose control of the church, the Holy Spirit takes control!

There is no need to have a ‘leader’ for every house group or home group meeting that takes place. there is no record of that in acts.

Church is not a ‘business’, church is a family. Whenever you have a business meeting supposed you have to have someone who directs it- (put all the seats in rows, dress up in nice clothing and listening to a message), but when family members get together, they can just enjoy each other’s company without worrying about ‘”who” is the leading the meeting?”

The church of God is the Family of God but sadly it is usually runned like a Business/

What about elders and deacons? Yes, it’s a biblical but they are birthed as God births it in his time, not our time. Not every church had elders and deacons in a same time frame I don’t think. The book of Galatians had no elders and deacons because Paul never mentioned any in his letter to the churches in Galatia.

1 Corinthians 16:19 Aquila and priscilla had a church in their house.

The key again is this: man loose control of the church, but the Holy Spirit takes control.

Who is building His Church? Who does it belong to?

Jesus is building His Church, not man. Matthew 16:18

There is a book about church history how pagan thinking crept into the church and created church traditions that have no biblical backing. He has a blog and I just got his book yesterday from Koorong bookshop in springwood, it has some good stuff.

http://www.paganchristianity.org/

I believe traditions and good ideas of men are ‘laws’ in themselves and enable men to control the church, but Grace releases men from traditions and allows the Holy Spirit to take control.

Galatians 5:18

“But if you are lead by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Any laws mean- church tradition laws as well- anything that is not in the Word of God.

It’s only the Glory of God that will make us One (John 17:22), and it comes by the Holy Spirit, being lead by Him, not by human laws and traditions of man which is doctrine of demons.

Bless you hope this helps 🙂

Liberating Church leadership Testimony

Dear friends, I would like to share with you something happening in the gold coast. I’m really blessed by it and have learnt alot through it. I hope this will stir you and make you think more. THis is not to puff up bradley or anything like that, but its to boast of the freedom you and I have in Christ Jesus! There is better way i believe my friends. 🙂
Please pray about it the Holy Spirit will give you understanding.

Recently through a divine appointment we met this really strong christian lady full of HOly Spirit and Joy on the Gold Coast.
She was unhappy about religion and traditions of man in the church, chruch politics and saw that the church was doing nothing to reach out to people but was asking people for money. The church was controlling, and she waited and waited to do something for God.
So after a while, she decided she’s going to get back reaching out to the backslidden and newly christians in her home, having prayer nights and bible studies and meals, doing free lunches bbqs on the beach to people on the beach and reaching out to the needy.
Then one night we were in her home and she was asking bradley, who’s starting a kingdom culture “church” in the gold coast.
Bradley said something like this to her,
“We are not here to start a new church. we are here to establish a kingdom culture.”
With regards to the Lady starting bible study in her home and reaching out to the lost, Brad said something along these lines,
“You run with your thing. We are not going to touch it. YOu just run wild and do what God has put on your heart. If you invite us to come on friday nights, we’ll come. We’ll sit there and listen and be part of it. If you want us to share, we’ll share. But at the end of the day, it’s you thing; we won’t touch it. You don’t even have to come to us for permission and ask, “hey i’m going to be doing this on friday night, what do you think?”
No, you just go and run with it. All we want is your testimonies. Share with us your testimonies, and share it on sunday. You go and do whatever God has put onyour heart, and bring the people on sunday and I’ll do my part which is to preach the Word. My part is to be a convering, prayerfor you.
Our church back in dubai, Well of LIfe, was like this. A chinese lady was runnign bible studies, we didin’t touch her thing, some of the people in the group came to our church and some of the people didn’t. It didnt’ matter.
God is saying, “Let My people go so that they may worship Me alone!!”

THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE BOOK OF ACTS!!
Friends, I ‘m so blessed by this. There are churches all over the world who operate organic life Holy Spirit lead ways like this.
Let the people of God go free so that they may serve God alone!!
Let’s trust God and let the people of God run wild!!!
Honestly i’ve learnt so much. I have even been a deacon before for a few months back a few years ago, but i never understood back then.
Leaders are “examplers” rather than “dictators”.
The only example I could think of that the Scriptures give controlling type leadership is the Pharisees. Matthew 23.
This doesn’t mean that brad won’t be ordaining  leaders such as deacons and elders. He’s not against leadership if you know what I mean.
Check out thexpoint.com

I feel free, Brad is not above me, it’s not hierachical. We submit to one another out of reverence for Christ!!!
Freedom!!!!!

love and bless ya!!!

The control/political/religious spirit

Beyond the Tithe, (Chapter by Michael Eaton)

(The first part is my comments and title and then Michael’s document follows)

Dear friends, there have been many studies and teachings about tithing whether For or Against…

I believe as the Scriptures say the fact we know that we are free and not under the Mosaic Law. The Law and the Prophets was a shadow, but the Reality is found in Christ.

Col 2:17 these are only 1 the shadow of the things to come, but the reality 2 is Christ! 3

That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t read the Law of Moses i.e. the book of Leviticus or Deuteronomy, but we should read the Old Testament keeping in mind that we cannot fully understand the OT without the New Testament Scriptures and the introduction of Jesus the Messiah.

Most Christians will point out the reasons why we should tithe:

1) According to Mosaic Law

2) According to Abraham and Jacob

The first reason is invalid because we are not under the Mosaic Law, the second reason was completely voluntarily and lead by the Spirit not out of a command- so that means we simple do it whenever God leads us, not legalistically. The law of 10% only stirs up sin.

Some people might be going ‘whippee’ at this point and say, “Cool! I don’t have to give 10%!! I’ll just give 3%!”.  You give what you have decided in your heart, if its 5% this time, or 50% next time, its whatever you’ve decided in your heart to give.

2Cor 9:6-8

My point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sowsgenerously  will also reap generously. Each one of you should give  just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly  or undercompulsion,  because God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace overflow  to you so that because you have enough of everything in every way at all times, you will overflow in every good work.

What most Christians don’t realise is that we as believers and partakers of the New Covenant, are so much more privileged than those who have gone before us under the Old Covenant.

We have a better sacrifice that is Jesus’ blood, not the blood of bulls and animals…

We have better promises and a better mediator

I believe that people living under Grace will give as they are being lead by the Holy Spirit than those living under the Old Covenant or Abraham’s days.

2 Cor 8:3 For I testify, they gave according to their means and beyond their means. They did so voluntarily,

Grace people on occasions will tithe, give 10% but more likely all the other times will  actually go beyond the tithe

Grace people are empowered to do more than law people because of a change of heart, they are more priviliged under a better covenant!

Grace people are not bound by rules and laws and that bounds them, but are now free to stretch their wings and take faith risks which makes them actually enables to do more as their heart has been freed by love…

Nevertheless, the Christian is free to give or not to give and whatever amount God puts on their hearts they are not not pressured by man but give out of their hearts.

Chapter 23 Tithing (Malachi 3:7c-8)

As always happened when Malachi was preaching, the people responded with hostility. Most of them were quarrelsome and argumentative. Here it happens again. Malachi says: But you say, ‘How shall we return?’ (3:7c). But as always Malachi refuses to be intimidated. He answers their question! Should a person rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions (3:8).

Why does Malachi mention tithing? It is because it is a highly practical matter. The people have become careless about keeping the Mosaic law. One sin is being committed, it seems, by almost everyone in the nation. They are all withholding the ‘tithe’ – the tenth of their agricultural profit and of their flocks of animals that was to be given to God at the temple. The people were generally careless about the things of God, but this is something which is very sensitive (most people are touchy about wealth!).

What was ‘tithing’? It was the setting aside of a tenth of harvested crops and animals to be given to God (see Leviticus 27:30-33). In Leviticus we are told that it was required animals and crops that were grown in the land should be tithed (27:30). It effectively meant that one’s in come was subject to a ten per cent tax. The crops (but not the animals) could be given a money-value and the tithe paid in cash. If this was done 20% was added to the estimated value (27:31).

The tithe was very sacred. ‘All tithes … are the Lord’s; they are holy…’. Later on in the law fuller information was given. Numbers 18 refers to the same tithe. (The idea that there is a tithe of crops and animals and another tithe for Levites and maybe a third tithe for the poor – is surely mistaken). The tithe had to be given to the Levites (Numbers 18:21) – the sections of the tribe of Levi that were not priests. The tithe was to be given them as a salary instead of land (18:24).

Deuteronomy 14:22-29 is a further development of the legislation, forty years after its first mention in the law. It adds to and modifies the original law with a view to what will happen in the future. Deuteronomy 17:14-20 is explicitly looking forward to a future period in Israel’s history, and so looks forward to what will happen when there is a central national place of worship. The tithe was an annual matter. Deuteronomy 14:22 makes it explicit. Moses (i) takes it for granted that the annual tithe will be brought to a central sanctuary. (ii) He also takes it that in two out of three years the visit to the central sanctuary will be a special occasion. Deuteronomy 14:23 says ‘And you shall eat before Yahweh your God’. It does not say ‘You shall eat it’ (which might seem to refer to the whole tithe). In this context ‘eat’ has the idea of ‘celebrate’, ‘join in a religious meal together’. Most of the tithe would have been given to the Levites to use or give out according to the well-known legislation. But the people who have come a long way also ‘eat before Yahweh’ (the identical phrase is found in Deuteronomy 12:7). That is, they enjoy a meal in which they are celebrating together. However if they live a long way from the sanctuary they will not be able to do this easily. So they may turn the tithe into cash at the place where they live (14:24-25a). They they are to carry the cash to the central sanctuary (14:25b) and use it to buy what they are giving as tithe (14:26a). They have a family celebration with a little of the tithe (14:26b), and then give the vast majority of it to the sanctuary (14:27). The Levites will no longer be quite so needy as they were when they first settled in the land, so the bulk of the tithe will be given to the central sanctuary. Yet the Levites must not be forgotten altogether. If they are in need some of the tithe may still (as in the original legislation) be given to them (14:27). (iii) Moses also laid it down for the distant future that every third year the tithe would be used in a different way. Every third year the tithe is to be stored in the towns until it is completely brought together from the rural areas (14:28), and then it will be given to the Levites, foreigners, orphans and widows (14:29a). This – says Moses – will lead to blessing for the entire nation (14:29b). Any Levite who misused the tithe was liable to be executed (Deuteronomy 18:32b).

2. What was the origin of tithing? It began with Abraham and Jacob. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14:20; Hebrews 7:6); and Jacob vowed to the Lord and said, ‘Of all that you give me I will surely give a tenth to you’. But it is important to note that this pre-Mosaic tithing was purely a matter of being led by the Holy Spirit. Abraham and Jocab tithed because at a time when they were close to God, and God was working powerfully in their hearts, they felt led to give a tenth of their possessions in this way. They were tithing in the Holy Spirit. Later on the tithe became a matter of law. Israel was under a tithe-legislation.

3. Is the Christian obliged to tithe his income? I answer ‘No’ and ‘Yes’! Strictly speaking the answer is ‘No, the Christian is not under the Mosaic law’. The Christian does not tithe as a matter of legislation. We have ‘died to the law’, and there is nowhere in the New Testament where we are told to tithe. Matthew 23:23 is telling those under the law to keep the law! It cannot be made into a command for post-Pentecost Christians. The New Testament speaks of proportional giving but it is not compelled like the tithe (2 Corinthians 8:8; 9:7). It was ‘according to means’ (8:11). This is not exactly tithing.

Israel was an earthly nation. The tithe was part of its state-law. There was a time when state-churches could demand a tithe of every citizen of a country. In Britain state-enforced tithing was not entirely abolished until 1936! Even today there is at least one country where the tithe can be collected from every citizen as part of its collecting the national taxes. Only those who exempt themselves are released from it. Certainly the Christian is not under the Mosaic law, and state-Christian-religion tends to have a corrupting influence on the purity and sincerity of the churches (to say nothing of its tendency to produce ‘Christians’ who persecute others). Is the Christian under a tithe law? No!

Yet this is not the whole story! The Christian has to give to the work of God. His or her giving is more like the tithing of Abraham and Jacob. They gave a tenth of what they had because that was the leading of the Holy Spirit in their lives. They were tithing by the Holy Spirit, not tithing by any legislation. Christians are not under the law; they are under the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit inspires giving! Another point is: if someone gave a tenth under the law, the movement from law to grace is a movement forward. A person who gave a tenth under the law would give even more – by the Holy Spirit. Whether this ‘proportional giving’ is called ‘tithing’ or not is unimportant. But there is no escaping the fact that when under the law, the believer was to give a tenth and the Holy Spirit is likely to inspire in the heart of the Christian the giving of even more than a tenth, in the heart of the Christian. It is a good way to test whether we are walking in the Spirit! Are we under the law? No! But we fulfill the law – and go beyond it – by walking in the Holy Spirit. Christians do not tithe ‘Mosaically’. They surpass the tithe when they are walking in the Holy Spirit.
